How it works

Taking parts from the press and stacking them in glued layers

GLUSTA is an automatic gluing station for stacking PTC heaters, installed right next to the press on the TDK production line in Šumperk. Pressed parts come from the press directly to the machine infeed, where they are positioned in a line.

A two-axis manipulator with vacuum suction cups takes the parts from the line and places them on the conveyor in layers - adhesive is applied automatically between each layer. At the outfeed section, the finished parts come out in columns on a moving conveyor, ready for further processing.

Control

Interface and control logic

A standard operator interface: an HMI panel with physical start/stop/reset buttons below it and an emergency stop button. A separate monitor next to the machine displays process data and the cycle progress.

Physical control station

  • HMI panel (Siemens Simatic)
  • Start/stop/reset buttons
  • Emergency stop
  • Separate monitor displaying process data

Functionality

  • Display of status and the current cycle step
  • Manual control with service permissions
  • Recipes for different types of PTC heaters
  • Counters of produced parts
  • Display of alarms and errors
  • SCADA system for working with recipes and monitoring machine operation

Technical details

Two-axis vacuum manipulator

A manipulator with vacuum suction cups takes the plates arranged in a line and places them on the outfeed conveyor in stacks.

Automatic adhesive application

Adhesive is applied automatically between each layer of parts, without operator intervention.

Direct integration with the press

The machine is installed right next to the press and takes the pressed parts directly at its infeed.

S7-1200 control

A Siemens PLC coordinates the entire cycle of pickup, stacking and adhesive application.

Servo axes

The manipulator moves along a 1000 mm Mitsubishi servo axis, while the machine uses several smaller SMC axes to lift the plates.

SCADA

Alongside the HMI panel, SCADA displays process data and the cycle progress in real time.
