Automated feeding of GFP parts on an assembly line for Sensata
Six bowl and linear vibratory feeders for an assembly line of plastic GFP connector parts at Sensata Technologies in Bulgaria - all on AFAG drives, with Harting connectors for control directly from the line PLC.

Six lines had to feed plastic GFP parts for connector assembly
For its connector assembly line, Sensata needed a feeding system for plastic parts - GFP elements - ready for pick-and-place handling. The requirement covered 6 feeding systems, bowl and linear, with shared technical requirements across the whole line.
Each system had to run on an AFAG drive, be controlled directly from the production line PLC via a Harting plug, and offer improved part sliding through a special coating - instead of separate control and a standard bowl surface for each system.
Six identical feeding systems with Harting connectors and AFAG drives
We built 6 vibratory feeding systems for plastic connector parts. Each system consists of a hopper for autonomy, a bowl feeder that orients the part, a linear feeder that acts as a buffer for correctly oriented parts, and an escapement that presents the parts one by one for pick-and-place.
All feeders are mounted on their own base plate ready for installation in the line, fitted with a Harting quick connector for control directly via the client's PLC, and coated with a special finish for better sliding of the plastic parts.
