After processing, parts had to be removed from the grid by hand
Parts coming from processing at TDK Croatia in Kutina are arranged in a carrier grid and have to be taken out. The task was to build a machine that could do this on its own instead of manual ejection.
Since a press is used for ejection, most of the engineering focused on safety - presses belong to a special safety category of machinery.
A hydropneumatic press with autonomous grid magazines
We built KOTRA, a machine that receives the grid and ejects the parts with a hydropneumatic press. Besides press safety, a particular focus was on autonomy - we added a magazine for the grids that receive the ejected parts and a separate magazine for empty grids.
The result is a machine that runs for long periods without an operator, with a defined and repeatable number of ejected parts on every grid.
A machine that runs without faults - and without service calls
