Smart storage of production surplus for TDK Croatia

At TDK Croatia, surplus electronic components from production were not stored in an organised way, so finding and reusing them took a lot of time. We developed a smart warehouse built as a parcel locker - PAKETOMAT - with RFID login, barcode tracking and an electronic lock on every compartment.

01 - Challenge

Surplus electronic components were not stored properly

Production at TDK Croatia in Kutina always generates some surplus or products that have to be stored separately and recorded for future use. Since these are small electronic components, they cannot be kept just anywhere - improper storage carried a risk of loss, spillage or damage.

The requirement was a smart warehouse that accepts boxes with a given quantity of parts, with software that records all data on the parts - above all the quantity and the identification code - and allows restocking and withdrawal without mixing different codes.

02 - Solution

PAKETOMAT with RFID login, barcode tracking and electronic locks

The solution is a smart warehouse similar to a parcel locker, but with advanced functions - equipped with a large PC panel running a web application. The software records all data related to the parts, allows quantities to be topped up and withdrawn, and an electronic lock on each compartment makes sure that parts with different identification codes are never mixed.

The operator logs in on the device with an RFID card and books material in and out with a barcode reader. The full history of stock-ins, stock-outs and alarms is available in the web application, together with an administration page with access rights.

RFID login and barcode tracking

The operator identifies with an RFID card and books material in and out with a barcode reader - the system records the quantity and identification code of every box.

An electronic lock on every compartment

Each compartment is locked separately, so the software prevents parts with different identification codes from being mixed.

Restocking and withdrawal via the web application

Operators add and take material through the application, with stock levels and the booking history available at any time.
