How it works

From the bowl feeder to the sealed carrier tape

KOMPA orients, optically and electrically inspects and packs electronic components for KEKO Varicon in Žužemberk. Components leave the bowl feeder and pass through optical inspection - defective parts drop straight into the optical reject bin, while the rest continue along the guide.

Optically good components are released into the matching nests on the rotary table, and indexing the table brings them to the electrical measurement position. Defective components are ejected into the electrical reject bin at the next index, while electrically good ones are marked and fed into the carrier tape - a protective cover tape is heat sealed onto the top of the carrier tape, and the full tape is then wound onto the outfeed reel.

Control

Interface and control logic

The PLC controls every unit of the machine - the bowl feeder, the inspection rotary table and the packaging system - through servo drives and pneumatic cylinders.

Physical control station

  • Bowl feeder
  • Rotary table with component nests
  • Reel for supplying empty and winding full carrier tape
  • Carrier tape sealer

Functionality

  • Monitoring of the good-to-reject component ratio
  • Monitoring of rotary table positions
  • Full carrier tape reel signaling
Installed equipment and features

Technical details

Dual inspection

Optical and electrical inspection before packaging ensure that only good components end up in the carrier tape.

Rotary table with nests

Each table position carries its own component nest, synchronized with the measurement and marking cycle.

Automatic tape packaging

Good components are marked and packed into carrier tape, with the protective cover tape heat sealed.
