PANDE - declaration marking machine for bags

An automatic station that picks up unmarked bags, prints declarations directly on the conveyor belt and stacks the finished bags into a bundle at the outfeed, with no need for manual marking.

How it works

Pickup, printing and stacking in a single pass

Unmarked bags enter the infeed section of the machine, where SMC pneumatic cylinders (pushers) transfer them to the lifting table. A manipulator built from SMC axes on a profile rail, cylinders and vacuum suction cups picks up the bag by vacuum - before pickup, the bag is positioned by SMC servo axes - and places it on the conveyor belt.

A printer on the conveyor belt prints the declaration directly on the bag as it passes; for us, the printer is an external unit to which the machine only sends a print start signal. After printing, the bags are stacked on another conveyor that counts a set number of bags per stack - once the set count is reached, a stopper opens and the conveyor moves the bundle of marked bags to the end.

Control

Interface and control logic

A standard operator interface: an HMI panel with physical start/stop/reset buttons below it and an emergency stop button.

Physical control station

  • HMI panel (Siemens Simatic)
  • Start/stop/reset buttons
  • Emergency stop
  • Signal tower

Functionality

  • Display of status and current cycle step
  • Manual control with the appropriate permissions for safe operation
  • Production counters
  • Display of alarms and errors

Technical details

SMC manipulator for bag transfer

A manipulator built from SMC axes on a profile rail, cylinders and vacuum suction cups moves the bags through the machine.

SMC pneumatics at the infeed

The pushers that feed the bags into the machine are designed as SMC pneumatic cylinders.

Vacuum lifting on SMC servo axes

Before pickup by the vacuum suction cups, the bags are positioned by SMC servo axes for accurate lifting onto the conveyor belt.

Automatic declaration printing

The printer on the conveyor belt prints the declaration directly on the bag as it passes; for us, it is an external unit to which the machine only sends a print start signal.

Counting and bundling

After printing, the bags are stacked on another conveyor that counts the set number of pieces per stack; once the count is reached, a stopper opens and the conveyor moves the bundle to the end.

Protective doors and emergency stop

Standard safety equipment protects the operator when working near moving parts.
